Find online dating friends - even if you're 60+
When a man or woman finds themselves in the position of being somewhere over 50 and single, it is a daunting experience to re-enter the world of dating and especially the strange new world of online dating.
Most seniors have never even heard of this new phenomenon but those who do eventually try it.
Welcome to Online Dating you Gorgeous Grandmas (GGs) and Handsome Grandpas (HGs)! OK, I just added that in there in case you see it online. Now you will know what it means, at least.
I'm hearing more and more stories of GGs and HG finding lasting second love. So don't give up quite yet.
If you can afford it, join a site that does back-ground checks on all members so you will know that the person you are exchanging e-mails with and chatting with isn't a wanted felon or a sexual predator. If you cant afford to do that then do this:
- Create a delightful short, profile and write, "interested in meeting new people,." Do not write
"seeking long-term relationship" or "loving companion."
- Post only one photo - more than one signals desperate - A GG or HG is never desperate! The picture should be your most attractive; If necessary, have it done professionally.
- Never give out personal information like Social Security numbers, phone numbers, etc. Use a cell phone number or voice mail number if you give out any numbers.
- Always remember to trust your instincts. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't
